Zambian striker Jasper Masialeti has set his sights on a national team call-up following a remarkable debut campaign in Namibia’s top-flight league with newly promoted side KK Palace.

The 25-year-old forward finished the 2024/25 season as the club’s top scorer, netting 13 goals and providing 6 assists, narrowly missing out on the league’s Golden Boot. The top scorer accolade went to African Stars’ Mbakondja Tjahikina, who bagged 15 goals.

Speaking exclusively to BolaNews from his base in Namibia, Masialeti reflected on his breakout season and expressed his desire to wear the Chipolopolo jersey.

“I feel I have done so well last season, and it was not easy to score 13 goals in my debut season with a newly promoted side, and it will be a dream come true if the national team was to recognize my efforts and give me a chance,” Masialeti said.

Masialeti’s numbers rank him among Zambia’s most prolific foreign-based players this past season. Only Kings Kangwa, who scored 14 goals and contributed 8 assists in Israel’s Premier League during his debut campaign, outperformed the Namibian-based forward statistically.

Masialeti on Golden Boot Award

Reflecting on his individual honour of winning KK Palace’s Golden Boot award, Masialeti described the campaign as one to remember.

“This is a great achievement, it’s one of the marvelous seasons I had and it will never be forgotten. This award means a lot to me and my family — it’s a great motivation,” he said.

Despite the accolades, the former Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes forward insists his focus is on improving and meeting rising expectations.

“Going forward I have to do more because now people have seen what I can do. I have to take it forward from where I have left this season. Next season I have to score more goals as people will be expecting a lot from me.”

Masialeti has one year remaining on his current deal with KK Palace but remains open to new opportunities, with clubs in the region reportedly monitoring his situation.
