ZESCO United goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata has given back to his childhood club, Maamba Energy Stars Football Club.
The club is based in Sinanzongwe district, competing in the Southern Provincial Division One League.
Nsabata’s career began with Maamba before moving to Chingola, where he joined Nchanga Rangers Football Club.
He later moved to ZANACO Football Club and ZESCO United in January 2021.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper also played in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) when he joined Sekhukhune United from 2021 to 2023.
On Monday, Nsabata utilised the off-season break to visit his former club and made a donation of football kits for the players as well as T-shirts for the coaching staff led by Kassi Kalande.
Maamba Energy Stars General Secretary Kent Chongo has described the donation by Nsabata as a boost to the team’s morale and resources.
“The donation of football items, including jerseys and technical T-shirts, is a significant boost to our team’s morale and resources. Your contribution will undoubtedly inspire our players to work harder and strive for excellence,” Chongo said.
Chongo added that Nsabata has been a great role model for the club.
“Toaster, your presence at Mamba Energy Football Club is a reminder that our values of hard work, discipline, and community are shared by our esteemed alumni. You are an exemplary role model, and we are honored to have you as part of our football family,” Chongo said.
Nsabata was part of the Chipolopolo squad that qualified for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted in Morocco in December to January 2026.
He helped Zambia to three clean sheets, including a crucial penalty save against Chad in the Chipolopolo’s 1-0 away win.
