Mwenya Chibwe has left Zesco United describing his short-lived return to the nine-times Zambian champions, as a “challenging period”.
Chibwe rejoined Zesco United earlier this year on a two-year contract after leaving South African side Black Leopards.
In a statement, the goalkeeper confirmed that him and the club had mutually agreed to part ways.
“I wish to inform everyone that I have mutually separated from Zesco United. Since arriving in August, it has been a challenging period for me personally, and it’s an experience I would not want any player to go through,” Chibwe said.
He expressed gratitude to fans and supporters who stood by him during the difficult months.

“I want to sincerely thank everyone who has checked on me, supported me, and stood by me during this time. To my loyal fans and supporters, your love keeps me going, and I am truly grateful.”
Chibwe, 32 revealed that he will now channel his energy into both his career’s next chapter and his philanthropic passion through the Chibwe Foundation.
“As I move forward, I am excited to focus on a new chapter in my career and continue the work of the Chibwe Foundation—‘Change for Youth.’ Empowering and uplifting young people remains at the heart of my journey,” he said.
