On Saturday, September 20, Zesco United and FC 105 will play the first leg of the 2025–26 CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round at the Franceville stadium.
Although the team is fully aware of the challenge ahead, Zesco United goalkeeper Victor Sochima says they are still confident the Zambian powerhouses will produce the ideal result.
The Nigerian goalie signed a two-year contract with Zesco United from South Sudan Club Jamus FC for the 2025–2026 campaign.
With four senior national team appearances for the Super Eagles, Sochima brings a wealth of experience to Zega Mambo.
He previously played for Rivers United and Tanzanian Club Tabora United.
“The team is focused and ready for the game,” Sochima told the club’s media.
“We thank God for the journey mercies that he granted us to this place; it wasn’t easy, but as you can see, the spirit in camp is so high we are all focused and calm for the task ahead,” he said.

“FC 105—they are not push-overs even though we don’t know much about them, but I believe in the quality that we have in the team, and we can be able to go through. Zesco United will not disappoint, we will come out winners,” added Sochima.
