Zambian champions Power Dynamos have been drawn in Group A of the CAF Champions League, alongside Morocco’s RS Berkane, Egypt’s Pyramids FC, who won the competition last season, and Nigeria’s Rivers United.

Power Dynamos, winners of the African Winners’ Cup, will be making their debut in the CAF Champions League group stage.

Oswald Mutapa’s side secured their spot by defeating Asec Mimosas of the Ivory Coast and Vipers FC of Uganda in the preliminary rounds.

Reacting to the draw, Christopher Katongo, who was one of the draw assistants, said: “Every group is tough, but I think for Power Dynamos, it’s a fair draw. If you want to be on top, you have to beat the teams at the top. I believe Power has a real chance to advance to the next round.”

Elsewhere, Group B features 12-time champions Al Ahly of Egypt, Tanzanian giants Young Africans, Morocco’s AS FAR, and JSK.

Group C includes South African powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Hilal, MC Alger, and FC Saint Eloi Lupopo. In Group D, Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive de Tunis will face Tanzania’s Simba SC, Angola’s Atlético Petróleos, and Stade Malien.

The CAF Champions League group stage matches are set to kick off on 21-22 November 2025.
