CAF Champions League

Nyasa Bullets not ready for Red Arrows, Pasuwa says as he blames Malawi officials

The coach claims his team has not rested and blames the situation on Malawian officials for scheduling a cup game in the middle of the week.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Malawi Football Association’s way of scheduling matches.

Pasuwa was responding to a question about whether his team is prepared to face Zambia’s Red Arrows in the CAF Champions League preliminary round second-leg match on Saturday.

He stated that there was no time to prepare because Malawi officials required them to complete a fixture before flying to Zambia.

“Look, we played on Sunday, and we were supposed to start preparing for the second leg which is this Saturday,” Pasuwa said. “However, we were told to play Moyale Barracks before flying out which is tricky,” he said.

Bullets edged out Moyale Barracks, in the FDH Bank Cup semi-final match last night at Bingu National Stadium. The team has since left Malawi for Zambia this morning.

“This means we had no time to prepare as we were preparing for the Moyale game and today Thursday we will be flying to Zambia, the match is on Saturday.

“My plea is that we are representing the country, it is for everyone. Playing in the Champions League seems to be for only us and not as a nation. We do not have time to prepare, how can we perfume in this situation?” He wondered.

Since Arrows played Bullets, they have been in camp preparing for the second leg match.

After the Bullets match against Moyale, Pasuwa said he will miss the services of some players due to injuries.

“Yankho Singo, Clyde Senaji and Lloyd Aaron who started the game against Arrows are out,” he said.

Bullets won the first leg 2-1 and Arrows.
