Zambian striker Kennedy Musonda and midfielder Clatous Chama have known their fates in the CAF Champions League following the quarterfinal draws conducted by CAF on Tuesday.
Following their historical progression to the knockout stages, Musonda’s Young Africans (Yanga) will take on South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns between March 29 away and 30 at home in the first leg.
The Zambian striker has found the back of the net once, with two assists so far in the current Champions League campaign, having featured in all group-stage matches, which culminated in 422 minutes of action.
He is expected to play a big role in this fixture as Yanga aims to make a mark in the Champions League after narrowly missing out on the Confederation Cup trophy last season.
On the other hand, enterprising Chama and Simba Sports Club have been handed an equally tough fixture against Champions League record-holders and defending champions, Al Ahly SC.
Simba will host the Egyptians in the first leg before heading to Cairo for the return leg.
Chama’s influence on the Simba squad has culminated in one goal and one assist. He’s also ranked third in the ongoing season in terms of chance creation, having conjured three big chances.
The rest of the fixtures see TP Mazembe take on Atletico de Petroleos of Angola, while Esperance of Tunisia will face Cote d’Ivoire’s Asec Mimosas.
