Kennedy Musonda has continued to write a beautiful story with Tanzanian giants Young African Sports Club (Yanga), who have advanced to the CAF Champions League quarterfinals for the first time.
The former Power Dynamos striker was on the losing end last season, as Yanga lost the CAF Confederation Cup final to Algeria’s USM Alger on the away goal rule after a 2-2 draw in two legs.
The Zambian striker is one of the top goal assistants in the 2023–24 CAF Champions League, having scored once and assisted twice for his Tanzanian side.
Musonda has since equaled his total of assists from last season, when he assisted twice in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Since joining Yanga in January 2023, he has directly contributed to 11 goals (6 goals and 5 assists) in 17 CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup games for the Young Africans.
Following Yanga’s advancement to the knockout stage, the towering striker hopes to improve his stats in inter-club competitions.
Musonda and his team will find out their fate in the quarterfinals when CAF conducts the draw for the 2023-24 CAF Champions League on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 15:00 Cairo time.
