According to a statement by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom), they have set Tuesday, July 11th and 12th to hear the cases respectively.

For Silver Strikers…

At Silver Strikers, it is their head coach, Pieter De Jongh who is accused of bringing the game of football into disrepute contrary to Article 26.2.25 of Sulom.

The former Somalia and FC Platinum manager on 1st July 2023 at Civo Stadium in the city of Lilongwe displayed improper conduct, running towards the officiating panel in a provocative manner immediately after the match.

His side who are topping the league standings with 25 points, drew 0-0 to rookies Chitipa United.

“This conduct is ungentlemanly or likely to bring the game, sponsors and the League into disrepute,” reads the Sulom statement.

Sulom has also charged the club for failing to control their supporter. The unnamed supporter entered the pitch and applied unknown substances in the goal area.

For Blue Eagles…

The Malawi Police-sponsored club have three counts to answer. This follows what happened when they lost 1-0 away to Ekwendeni Hammers in the league on July 2nd.

The first count is failing to control the actions of officials and players contrary to Sulom’s rules and regulations.

Sulom says on the said day, Eagles failed to take necessary precautions to control its officials and players.

The officials include head coach Eliya Kananji, assistant Coach Christopher Sibale, and Goalkeeper Trainer Chimwemwe Chitedze.
