Mamelodi Sundowns suffered their first defeat in the African Football League on Sunday night, falling to Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of the final.
The home side took the lead after Rivaldo Coetzee put the ball in his own net in the first half before Anas Serhatt made it two in the second half.
Abdelmounaim Boutouil pulled one back for the visitors to grab an important away goal.
Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena believes the team still has a chance to bounce back despite the loss.
“We will do our best to win in Pretoria. Preparation for now: we have to get back and prepare tactically for the game.
“Congratulations to Wydad on the win; it’s only halftime. I congratulate my players for their incredible effort and fighting spirit to come back and try very hard. Our take was not as important and aggressive, but we take the away goal and we move,” stated Mokwena.

Masandawana will need to win the return leg to overturn the result and be crowned champions of the maiden African Football League next weekend.
They have been an excellent side, previously beating Al Ahly and Petro Atletico in the competition.
Mukwena will look to win the title on home soil next Sunday.
