The South African Football Association (SAFA) has secured four international friendly matches for the men’s national team.
The matches are part of Bafana Bafana’s preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

SAFA Chief Executive Officer Lydia Monyepao said the senior men’s national team will host Namibia and DR Congo on 9 September and 12 September respectively.
Another home match will be against Eswatini on 13 October before facing Ivory Coast, Africa Cup of Nations hosts on 17 October, five days after the AFCON draw.
Hugo to use the friendlies to fine-tune squad.
“This is in support of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos as he continues with his preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations next year, and the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November this year,” Monyepao said.
Bafana Bafana is in Group C with Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Benin, Rwanda, and Lesotho for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The AFCON will run from 13 January to 11 February 2024, and World Cup qualifiers will begin this year in November 2025.
