Super League of Malawi (Sulom) general secretary Williams Banda told BolaNews in Malawi that teams were busy on the transfer market to strengthen their squads in preparation for the League’s second round.

Banda said Sulom will issue a statement that will name all players who have changed teams and their value. However, BolaNews understands that over 35 players made moves.

Many clubs have also promoted players from their reserve sides, with few teams able to buy from other new talents.

Aaron could still make a move after D-Day

Lloyd ‘Benega’ Aaron is one name that has become the talk of the town, with teams fighting for his signature following his outstanding performance at the just-ended Cosafa Cup.

Aaron, a holding midfielder who plays for Civil Service United, has caught the attention of Blantyre-based Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Lilongwe-based Silver Strikers.

He is said to have communicated to his club that he wants to move. This resulted in bids from both Wanderers and Silver.

Civil had set a price tag of 15 million Malawi Kwacha for any club interested in signing him.

According to our sources, Silver has made a K10 million offer to sign Aaron. Wanderer, on the other hand, has bid K2 million for a five-month loan as negotiations continue.

“We have offers from both clubs, but we will sit down and come up with the decision very soon. But I can confirm with you that the player has told us that he wants to leave,” an inside source told BolaNews.

Aaron could still move because the Malawian league allows pending transfers to be completed after the deadline day.

Midfielder Chimwemwe Idana is another name that has piqued the interest of many. He signed for Mbeya FC in March this year and was loaned to Silver for a 5-month period.

FC Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver were said to have approached Mbeya for his signature, but nothing has been confirmed.
