Kalusha Bwalya will run for the top position in the Football Association of Zambia public, revealing the worst-kept secret.

Since incumbent Andrew Kamanga defeated him in 2016, Kalusha, a former captain of the Chipolopolo, coach of the national team, and president of FAZ, has been eyeing a return.

It was under Kalusha that Zambia won its maiden and only Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) title in 2012.

This is according to an exclusive interview with journalist Augustine Mukoka. “I’m definitely in the running. Zambian football must prosper and unite,” he said.

Kalusha, who was named the 1988 African Footballer of the Year, will soon make an official announcement during a conference.

The FA announced that provincial elections will be on March 25th, 2025, and the elective Congress on March 29th.

“The Football Association of Zambia executive committee has approved the roadmap for the 2025 elective national congress that will start with provincial elective congresses on March 15,” FA General Secretary Reuben Kamanga says.

Kamanga has advised the membership to familiarize themselves with the Electoral Code as they prepare for elections and campaign.

“We encourage the membership to familiarize themselves with the provisions of the FAZ constitution and Electoral Code ahead of the elections.”
