Malawi lost to Namibia 1-0 at home in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match.

The defeat means that Malawi is in fourth position with 6 points from five matches with Tunisia topping the group H with 13 points from the same number of games.

Namibia is second with 11 points and Liberia third with 7 points, Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome are fifth and sixth respectively with a point each.

Malawi has left for Tunisia via South Africa today with Pasuwa confident to do well saying it is not over yet.

Talking about a match against Namibia, the Zimbabwean gaffer said it was a game of chances but his charges failed to utilize opportunities which they created.

Pasuwa.

“We were giving them too much respect hence keeping position in most of the areas. But defensively, we had numbers but again we ended up conceding when we had numbers at the back.

“We need to do more when going forward; we can’t say everything is gone. It needs a lot to have a combination, remember we trained for two days and it needs a lot to have a combination. With days, it will come good,” he said.

Pasuwa will miss the services of striker Gabadinho Mhango and defender Charles Petro due to injuries they sustained against Namibia.
