Over a month after being ushered into office, the Keith Mweemba–led Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) executive committee was on Wednesday officially inducted into office by the world football governing body FIFA.

In May, Mweemba defeated Andrew Kamanga to become FAZ president. He is set to lead a 14 – member executive for the next four years.

Speaking during the induction, Mweemba amplified his call for unity in the management of the game if Zambia is to achieve success.

“[I am] reminding everyone about the importance of unity in the management of our game,” Mweemba said in his opening remarks. “I have committed to ensuring that everyone who has something to offer in our game is given an opportunity to serve or contribute.”

Earlier, Mweemba thanked FIFA for the support it has continued to render to Zambia in the development of football.

“We have every reason to be grateful to FIFA for having walked with us throughout our football journey. By this induction, FIFA demonstrates how much value FIFA places on the ethos of corporate governance,” he said.

He hailed the world football governing body for the football development projects it is funding in Zambia.
