Benin Vs Zambia

Benin and Zambia faceoff this evening in their 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Group C opener for the first time.

Benin will be making their long-awaited return to the tournament. They will hope to repeat their best performance in 2005 when they defeated Morocco on penalties and won a bronze medal on home soil.

Going into tonight’s game, Benin coach Mattias Deguenon will bank on Dokou Dodo, Ouorou, and Imourane to control the midfield. The two attackers in Farid Edou and Rivaldo Alitonou to get them the much-needed goals to win the game.

The junior Chipolopolo Boys also head into this fixture with high confidence after winning the COSAFA regional tournament.

Zambia who won the tournament in 2017 will look to replicate their past glory and start their campaign with a win.

They qualified for the World Cup three times: in 1999, 2007, and 2017 and are aiming for a fourth appearance.

Zambia’s coach Chisi Mbewe is expected to start with Jeban Tembo between the sticks. In defense, Lombe Mutale and Amon Chulu will likely start as the right and left backs, respectively. Gift Mphande and Onesmas Chipango will complete the back four.

Peter Chikola, Songa Chipyoka, Dominic Kanda, and Julius Kumwenda are expected to complete the midfield.

Upfront Emmanuel Mukosha and Kingston Mutandwa are likely to start

BETTING TIP: Zambia to win with 2-3 goals in the match.
