The stage is set for the lone trophy in Zambia, and the two teams competing for it, Kabwe Warriors and Red Arrows, are primed for this Sunday’s 2024 ABSA Cup final at Lusaka’s Heroes Stadium.
Kabwe Warriors have reached their first Cup final since defeating Nakambala Leopards in the BP Top 8 in 2007.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, ahead of the final, Kabwe Warriors, Captain Clement Mundia says the team wants to reward their fans with a trophy this season.
This season, Mundia has been crucial to the Warriors, earning him the title of ABSA Cup man of the match against the Lumwana Radiants.
Mundia is optimistic that the current squad would revive the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium like it was in the past.
“We give glory to the almighty God for bringing us this far and our objective still remains the same to work extra hard in training and prepare well so that we bring back the good old days to the people of Kabwe and to the magnificent people’s team at large,”
Can Numba Mumamba inspire Warriors to victory?
He believes the team deserves to be in the finals of the competition after putting in a good fight since the team qualified.
“We don’t have any pressure at all we have played Red Arrows before and a cup final differs from league games, their form in the league is superb and we as Kabwe Warriors we have proven to be great in this year’s ABSA Cup and to reach in the finals it demands a lot of handwork which I believe we have done as a team,” he said.
The Kabwe Warriors captain also praised his coach (Numba Mumamba) for his input to ensure the team reached the final.

“We are getting motivation from our coach, he has been here before, he has won the ABSA title with (Zanaco FC) before, so we are ready to compete,” he concluded.
