Red Arrows Football Club defender Michee Malonga has attributed his brace-scoring performance in the ABSA Cup quarterfinal match against Green Eagles to concentration.

Michee scored twice in the second half to give the Airmen, who are the defending champions, a comfortable 3-1 win over Eagles at Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday.

Following a 1-1 score at half-time, the DR Congo-born defender was the hero of the day when he scored in the 71st minute before he converted a last-minute penalty in the final minutes of the additional four minutes.

In a post match interview, Michee said he was mentally prepared to support the squad.

“I think scoring two goals today was because of concentration; we were talking about it before the game,
” he said.

Michee, who was the Man of the Match, states that the team is aiming to reclaim the Absa Cup title.

“I’m happy to help the team and also happy with the effort from the team and the coaches. We are the champions, and we want to defend it,” Michee said.

In the semi-finals, Red Arrows will face Power Dynamos.

The other semi-final match will see Zesco United take on Nkana Football Club.
