Warriors’ confidence was high following their 1-0 victory over Nkana the previous weekend, which restored their chances of making it to the ABSA championship.

Green Eagles and Warriors are tied at 26 points after week 17 of play, despite the Kabwe-based team having a superior goal difference.

Kabwe Warriors head coach Numba Mumamba praised the youngsters for meeting the team’s goal in response to the outcome.

“I think the team played very well we controlled the game throughout the 90 minutes, and we managed to get a goal, but unfortunately referee disallowed it I think the good thing is we have met our objective of qualifying for the ABSA Cup.

The former Zanaco head coach, meantime, cautioned teams not to underestimate his club during the campaign.

“You expect a different Kabwe Warriors as we compete in the ABSA all we wanted was to qualify so that we can compete. We have the material that can compete to win the Championship we just have to get down to work and make sure that the team is ready of the challenge ahead of us,”
