If FC MUZA wins the ABSA Cup final this Saturday, the Mazabuka-based team will once again make history. A victory over Forest Rangers will highlight their history-first qualifying to play continental football next season.

In order to win their first trophy in top-flight football, FC MUZA will turn their focus to the ABSA Cup final on Saturday when they play Forest Rangers at Lusaka’s Woodlands stadium.

Given that they were elevated from the lower division to the super league during the previous football season, the accomplishment is impressive.

Additionally, FC Muza coach Lameck Banda voiced confidence in his team’s ability to triumph on Saturday against Ian Bakala’s Fole Malembe, who is pursuing his first medal as a coach, in an exclusive interview with bola news.

“We want to end on a high note,”-Banda.

“Our aim is actually to finish on a high note, because that will be a moral booster and it will show that the team is ready or not. So, we need to finish on a high note for us to make sure that we give ourselves such confidence going forward.” Banda said.

The coach explained further that “We have been telling them that as much as it is a cup final, just relax yourself, play your game and enjoy yourself because it’s only through enjoyment that you could be able to do your best,” he said

Andrew Banda is back.

The FC MUZA coach also declared that their leading scorer Andrew Phiri, who has 15 goals across all competitions this season, will be able to play on Saturday despite suffering an injury in their previous match against Zanaco.

“Andrew is okay now, he has fully recovered, and he will be able to start and so far, we have no injury concerns.” he said.

Since the two finalists have not won the ABSA Cup since it began, this year’s competition will have new champions.
