Harry Kane declares England Vs France quarter-final match a battle

England advanced to the 2022 World Cup quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory over Senegal in their Round of 16.

Their goals came from Jordan Henderson in the 38th minute, Harry Kane (45+3′), and Bukayo Saka (57′), making it the 10th time that the Three Lions reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup.

The English team’s performance was praised by captain Kane, who also thinks his team is mentally ready to take on defending champions France on Saturday.

“Knockout games are never easy,” he said. “We showed great maturity through the tournament. The mentality was top-notch from the beginning, and we took our chances tonight.”

And when asked about playing France on Saturday, the three Lions striker said it would be a difficult game.

“We will enjoy this one, but then our focus turns to that; it’s going to be a really tough game.” “They are the reigning champions, but it’s a good battle,” said the Tottenham Hotspur forward.

Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka, who is 21 years and 90 days old, became the second youngest England player to score in the World Cup knockout stages last night against Senegal. The Arsenal striker has already scored three goals in this year’s World Cup.

For the first time in men’s world cup history, England will face France in the knockout stages. They met only twice in the World Cup, in 1966 and 1982, both won by England in the group stage, 2-0 and 3-1.
