League Leaders Red Arrows FC maintained their top spot in the Zambian Super League after convincing 3-1 victory over Nchanga Rangers in an early kick off encounter played at Hereos stadium on Saturday.

The victory meant the Airmen have now gone six consecutive matches in the Zambian Super League unbeaten having only lost once to Kabwe Warriors and won six times and drew twice.

The deadlock in Saturday’s match was broken in the 14th minute after a quick thrown in from Arrows’ skipper Benedict Chepeshi found veteran striker James chamanga who easliy crossed the ball into danger zone as the unmarked Conlyde Luchanga tapped in the ball to give the defending champions the lead.

The Airmen dominated the proceedings of the game as they kept searching for the second goal, and in the 19th minute they were rewarded with a penalty after Joseph Phiri was brought down in the box by Nchanga Rangers goalkeeper victor Chabu.

The Airmen striker quickly dusted himself up to and took the responsibility of taking the penalty which he converted to ensure the defending champions went at the break with a 2-0 lead.

Red Arrowsalso remain unbeaten and comfortably at the summit of the Super League table with 20 points from nine games played so far.
