Interim Chipolopolo head coach George Lwandamina has unveiled his squad for Zambia’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria and Togo later this month.
Zambia will begin their qualifying campaign away to Algeria on September 25 before hosting Togo at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on September 29.
Lwandamina has named a mixture of experienced players and emerging talent, with several key names missing from the squad.
Among the notable absentees are experienced midfielder Clatous Chama, winger Edward Chilufya, striker Joseph Sabobo Banda, and defenders Lubambo Musonda and Frankie Musonda.
Meanwhile, in-form Panathinaikos midfielder Kings Kangwa is unavailable as he continues to serve a four-match suspension imposed by the CAF during the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Lwandamina has called up Cagliari youngster Joseph Liteta, Miguel Chaiwa and Lameck Banda among his midfield options.

Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka headline the attack, which also includes Kingstone Mutandwa and Albert Kangwanda.
Unattached forward Chanka Zimba has also been included as Lwandamina looks to guide Chipolopolo to the 2027 AFCON.
“I’m sure, I’m confident, and they can deliver,” Lwandamina said after unveiling the squad today.
Asked about the exclusion of some regular players, the interim coach stated that “They’re good players. They’ve been there. And we have to see even others for us to broaden the scope of selection. We don’t have to confine ourselves to same people all the time. Zambia is big,” he said.
