IFK Mariehamn have confirmed the signing of 20-year-old Zambian left-back Samson Ngulube from Kafue Celtic on a two-year contract, with an option for an additional year, as revealed last week by BolaNews.
The move follows a successful trial at the Finnish club in October 2025, where Ngulube impressed and earned a long-term deal running until 2027.
Ngulube was part of the Zambia U20 national team that featured at last year’s Africa Cup of Nations and has been one of Kafue Celtic’s standout performers in the Zambian National League.

“I am a fast and strong left-back, who likes to push forward with the ball. It feels incredibly fun to finally be here in Åland and I am very grateful for the trust. I hope to be able to develop as a player and help the team achieve something bigger this season,” said Ngulube after being unveiled on Monday.
IFK Mariehamn CEO and sports director Jimmy Wargh added: “Samson spent a week with us in October and we immediately became interested in him. It will be exciting to follow his development in the coming years.”
