ZESCO United clinched the 2025 Carling Black Label “Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu” Charity Shield with a 2-0 victory over Power Dynamos at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday.

David Simukonda opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Pascal Phiri sealed the win with a stoppage-time strike, handing ZESCO a strong start to their season and the prestigious curtain-raiser trophy.

Zesco has now won the Charity Shield six times, making them one of the most successful club in recent years.

Both teams will now shift focus on the upcoming MTN Super League and CAF interclub competition.

Zesco will play FC 105 of Gabon in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup while Power Dynamos will clash with ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast.
