Zambian winger Edward Chilufya has committed his future to Danish giants FC Midtjylland, signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until December 31, 2028.
The 25-year-old is closing in on a milestone 100 appearances for the club since arriving in the winter of 2022. So far, Chilufya has featured in 91 matches, scoring 12 goals and helping Midtjylland clinch both the 3F Superliga and the Oddset Cup.
Chilufya, who played 1,110 minutes in the 2024/25 season, contributed six goals and six assists — averaging a goal involvement every 92 minutes.
“It feels good. I’ve been here for a while now and I really like it. The club’s style of play suits me well and I believe I can do much better in the years to come,” he said.

Chilufya acknowledged the challenges of competing in a high-pressure environment but maintained that perseverance remains his guiding principle.
“Sometimes confidence is high, sometimes it’s low. It can be difficult to come in during the second half and make a difference, but for me it’s about continuing to fight for the team,” he said. “The most important thing is to do my part when I’m needed, and I believe that success will come.”
Chilufya has set his sights on winning more silverware with Midtjylland — and eventually making a move to one of Europe’s elite leagues.
“There is a lot of competition on the team, and you have to fight for your place every single day. Of course, it is hard, but also educational. The key for me is hard work,” he added. “I want to continue winning titles here in Central Denmark Region, and at some point in my career I dream of getting to a top 5 league.”
With nine games to go before reaching his century for Midtjylland, Chilufya’s journey in Denmark is far from over — and if his trajectory continues, even bigger stages may soon await.
