There is pressure on Zanaco’s head coach Wedson Nyirenda to make sure his team starts to improve in the Zambian Premier League.

After the international break, Nyirenda has a task to amend a string of poor results recorded so far.

Zanaco are 15th placed with six points recording one win, three draws and three defeats.

The bankers suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Kabwe Warriors at Sunset Stadium before the break.

In their attempt to escape relegation, Zanaco’s eighth-week matchup is against Lumwana Radiants, another struggling team, on Saturday.

Speaking to the Club’s media ahead of the match, Nyirenda says the team’s poor performance is due to the injuries.

“Preparations have been good despite some knocks, our injury list from week two have never diminished.

“The team has not been consistent in terms of being together, the reason why we have not been getting better results because we have not been having the same team together. Every game you have a player coming out with a knock,”said Wada Wada.

According to Nyirenda, the team must maintain its strength to withstand the strain caused by subpar officiating.

“We need to work on the mental aspect of the players to withstand the pressure that comes with some decisions made in the game, “added Nyirenda. An away victory for Zanaco will see them move a step out of the D-zone.
