Former FC MUZA captain Kelvin Mwanza has spoken out over his contractual lapses with the club.

Mwanza and his handlers claim that the player’s contract with MUZA expired on July 31, 2024, six years after joining them from Lusaka’s Chibolya Youth Sports Academy.

According to BolaNews sources, Mwanza received numerous offers from Super League teams and even reached an agreement with Power Dynamos, but his former club has refused to let him leave.

MUZA is also believed to have written to Power Dynamos demanding the player’s return, claiming he was still under contract with them.

Mwanza has had a successful six-season stint with the Mazabuka-based club.

During his tenure, he helped the team qualify for their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup and advance to the 2022 ABSA Cup tournament finals.

Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mwanza said it was time for him to make a move and face new challenges.

“I think I can’t really complain, MUZA has been my family and will forever be, but I think it’s time I make a move and face new challenges. This has been my dream since I was a kid and now it’s on the verge of happening. Otherwise, I feel things will go well sooner or later,” he said.

“You know they say if you can’t picture the future, you will never feature in it, I have been picturing my future like this and it’s time I feature in it,” he added.

Mwanza has yet to play any competitive match this season as he continues to wait for MUZA to resolve his contractual dispute.
