TP Mazembe has intensified their preparation for Saturday’s CAF Champions League second round second leg match against Zambia’s Red Arrows.

The five-time Champions League winners recorded a 2-0 away victory in a match played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola last weekend.

Their head coach, Lamine Ndiaye, has revealed that the Ravens have not relaxed after getting an advantage over the Zambian Champions, stating that the Red Arrows are capable of scoring goals and upsetting them.

“We got a good result in Ndola, but there is still a second match to play in Lubumbashi, where a lot of things can happen,” Ndiaye said. “We are preparing for the return match calmly and diligently because this team is capable of scoring goals. And we are not immune to surprises.”

The winner of the two legs will advance to the group stage of the 2024-25 CAF Champions League.

Last season, TP Mazembe advanced to the competition’s semifinals but lost 3-0 on aggregate to eventual winners Al Ahly.

Red Arrows are hoping to qualify for the group stages for the first time in their history, but they will need to overcome a deficit with clinical finishes after missing a couple of chances in the first leg.

The Airmen are looking for their first away win in the continental showpiece.
