Tanzania will be taking on DR Congo in their final group F encounter on Wednesday night at  Amadou Gon Coulibaly stadium. The Taifa Stars lost their opening game 3 nil to Morocco last Wednesday, but put up a strong performance against Zambia over the weekend to earn their first point since 2019 in AFCON.

DR Congo showed great resilience against Morocco to get a draw against one of the favorites in the competition. They currently have two points from their two group matches and a win against Tanzania could get them a place into the knockout stage. But that will depend on the whether Zambia fails to win their final group game against Morocco.

The last time these two teams met in 2021, The Leopards beat the Taifa Stars 3 nil in the World Cup Qualifiers. Tanzania are rock-bottom in their group with just a single point so far. Defeat on Wednesday will mark the end of their Nations Cup campaign while a draw could also be detrimental.

Simon Msuva (Tanzania) – Tanzania’s Simon Msuva scored his nation’s first AFCON goal since 2019 in round two and he also netted the opener in their last scoring game in this tournament five years ago. He is also currently a free agent but if he continues to perform like he did, he could catch the eye of some clubs in Europe.

Silas Katompa Mvumpa (DR Congo) – Silas plays his trade at Stuttgart and has scored 3 times in the Bundesliga this season. He scored his very first international goal against Morocco in the second round of group F. The Leopards will be hoping he can continue to find the net, especially in this crucial final group encounter on Wednesday.
