Tottenham have agreed a £17.2million fee with Empoli for Guglielmo Vicario. The 26 year old goalkeeper is due in London this weekend to undergo a medical ahead of signing a five-year contract with Tottenham.

Spurs have been on the look-out for a keeper with Hugo Lloris set to leave the club this summer. Vicario is part of the Italy squad but has yet to be capped by his country. He impressed for Empoli last season and previously played for the club while on loan from Cagliari. Spurs had been in talks for Brentford’s David Raya but were reluctant to meet the £40m asking price.
