Matheus Nunes is not training with Wolverhampton Wanderers and has told the club that he wants to move to Manchester City. The 25-year-old midfielder joined Wolves only a year ago from Sporting Lisbon in a 4 year contract worth £42million. Reports The Athletic.
City had a bid of £47m rejected for the player, as Wolves valuate him at £60m. The English Champions need reinforcement after losing Kevin De Bruyne to a hamstring injury. They have also missed out on the signing of West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta due to an FA investigation over potential betting breaches.
Nunes will face disciplinary action for this stance, as Wolves want to re-integrate him back into the squad after the window shuts.
