Arsenal are working on deal to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber. Mikel Arteta wants a versatile defender who is good on the ball and can start out at right back then fill in in midfield just as Oleksandr Zinchenko does on the opposite flank. An initial bid of £30m has been rejected but there is confidence a deal can still be struck at closer to £50m.
The 22-year old Holland international is keen on a move to Arsenal. Personal terms are thought to be already in place. Gunners told to up their bid for the versatile Manchester United target to £50m as Mikel Arteta steps up £180m rebuild.
