Zesco United will this afternoon take on F.C MUZA in a rescheduled Super League match without Kenyan striker Vincent Oburu.

Oburu who has been on the scoresheet in Zesco United’s last two Super League matches has been ruled out of this afternoon’s match due to a pulled muscle injury which he sustained in Saturday’s match against Kansanshi Dynamos.

With Enock Sakala out on international duty with the Zambia Under-23 National team, Zesco United interim head coach Alfred Lupiya has bemoaned the absence of Oburu after Saturday’s 3-1 victory.

“Oburu’s injury is a major blow to this team. His absence will be deeply felt because he has been scoring goals for us,” he said.

Lupiya is however confident Spencer Sautu will be able to step up and fill the gap that has been left by the Kenyan.

“This has affected our preparations but we have Spencer Sautu who will take up the responsibility. Spencer is an experienced player who can deliver at any given time,” added Lupiya.

The coach has also noted that his side has played several matches in a short space of time hence there is fatigue creeping in.

He further said Zega Mambo will also be boosted by the return of defensive midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu following his recovery from an injury sustained against Napsa Stars last Wednesday.

“I think it has been a very busy period for everyone, the players are tired due to the number of games we have had to play in a short space. We will also be missing Kelvin Kampamba due to suspension while Kelvin Kapumbu will make a return after recovering from an injury sustained against Napsa Stars.”

Zesco United who are sitting in the 9th position on the Super League table with 12 points after recording 3 wins, 2 losses and 3 draws in their last 8 League matches will this afternoon take on FC MUZA in a rescheduled Super League Week 8 match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola with Kickoff at 15:00Hrs.
