Zesco United interim coach Emmanuel Siwale says his sole focus right now is on helping the team win games as the club looks for new head coach.
Zega Mambo defeated Napsa Stars 1-0 in a rescheduled week one MTN Super League match played on Thursday at REIZ Arena Stadium in Lusaka, with Edward Lungu scoring the only goal.
Zesco has won both of their first two Super League games since exiting the CAF Confederations Cup, which led to the dismissal of George Lwandamina as head coach and the advertisement of the position. They started their campaign with a 1-0 win over Napsa.
Siwale told journalists after the match that he wants his team to maintain its momentum as the season progresses.
“We keep working hard because the league has just started and it’s a long way so we will just keep on taking each game as it comes. I’m happy, especially for the boys,” he said.
“I am a coach. I will keep on working; there is nothing that has changed—a coach is always a coach; there is nothing that has changed; you just have to work.”
The nine-time Zambian Champions will face Green Eagles in another rescheduled match next week on Wednesday at the Levy Mwanawansa stadium in Ndola.
