BolaNews highlights some of the weekend’s standout performers who have made our team of the week.
GOALKEEPER
Jeff Lungu (Prison Leopards): The Prison Leopards goalkeeper put up an impressive performance to deny Andrew Phiri and FC Muza a win at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium. Lungu made notably three big saves to keep his side in the match which ended 0-0.
DEFENDERS
Ocean Mushure (Kabwe Warriors): He was outstanding for the Warriors. Mushure was unlucky not to score, hitting the post twice from dead ball situations. His offensive prowess provided the Warriors with more options up front. The Zimbabwean’s performance was excellent.
Chilimba Moonga (GBFC): The veteran defender was crucial at the back for the Green Buffaloes in their 0-0 draw with the Power Dynamos. The highlight was when he blocked Andy Boyeli’s shot inside the 18 yard.
Isaac Shamujompa (Zanaco FC): Despite losing, Shamujompa was Zanaco’s standout performer, particularly in set-piece situations. He hit the post twice and was the only Zanaco player who looked likely to score as Zanaco fell to Napsa Stars 0-1.
Gideon Sichone (GBFC): He had a well-balanced performance defensively and offensively. Sichone charged forward with some dangerous runs for the Army-sponsored side, delivering some dangerous balls from the right flank.
MIDFIELDERS
Collins Sikombe (Zesco United): The Zesco United forward was on fire on Saturday, scoring a brace against Buildcon. Sikombe could have scored even more goals on the day as he was crucial in the George Lwandamina drilled side.
Chipyoka Songa (Zesco United): The winger provided two assists and capped off his impressive shift with a goal for Zega Mambo. Certainly taking on bigger responsibilities when the stage required him to do likewise.
Amity Shamende (Green Eagles): Rounded up his top-notch performance with a goal. He pulled the strings for Green Eagles, helping them to a win following a goalless draw in their last match against Green Buffaloes.
Joe Simbuwa (Lumwana Radiants): Simbuwa’s goal gave Lumwana Radiants the lead, though they couldn’t hold on to it in the second half. His performance deserved all three points, but the one point was insufficient to lift Lumwana Radiants out of the relegation zone.
STRIKERS
Adams Zikiru (Napsa Stars): Zikiru makes the team of the week for the second week in a row, owing to his prolific scoring. The Ghanaian strike in the second half was enough to give Napsa Stars all three points.

Lameck Kafwaya (Nkana): He helped Nkana to a 2-1 victory over Nkwazi at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe. Kafwaya started as a twin striker alongside Obed Masumbuko and repaid coach Beston Chambeshi’s faith in him by scoring the game-winning goal for Kalampa.
