England and Argentina booked their places in the semifinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will meet in the second last-four clash, with the winner advancing to the final against either France or Spain.

A Jude Bellingham brace inspired the Three Lions to a 2-1 comeback victory over a resilient Norway. Andreas Schjelderup had given Norway an early lead, but Bellingham struck twice to send England into the semifinals.

It marks England’s fourth FIFA World Cup semifinal appearance and their first since 2018. The Three Lions will now be chasing a second world title, having lifted the trophy only once in 1966.

Defending champions Argentina also had to work hard to secure their place in the last four, defeating 10-man Switzerland after extra time.

Alexis Mac Allister handed Argentina the lead in the 10th minute, but Dan Ndoye restored parity for Switzerland in the 67th minute to force the match into extra time.

Julián Álvarez put Argentina back in front in the 112th minute before substitute Lautaro Martínez sealed the victory with a stoppage-time goal in the 120+1st minute.

The first semifinal will see France take on Spain on 14 July 2026, while England and Argentina will battle for the remaining place in the final on 15 July.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is scheduled for 19 July at New Jersey Stadium in the New York metropolitan area.
