'We have to get results in every game we have left,' the players have been told plainly.

Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Donewell Yobe says the match against the Kabwe Warriors will be difficult, following their outstanding performance in the ABSA Cup quarterfinals, which saw them go past Indeni to qualify for the semifinal for the first time.

The Solwezi-based side will face Warriors in a Week 28 match at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium on Wednesday in their bid to avoid relegation.

Kansashi is coming off a 4-1 loss to Green Eagles and will be looking to make amends.

However, they will face a motivated Kabwe Warriors team that advanced to the 2024 ABSA Cup semi-finals after defeating Indeni 5-0.

“Tough match, it’s going to be for sure, because now all the games that we will be playing are cup finals,” Yobe told Kansanshi media.

He continued: “Kabwe Warriors have not won in a few games that they have played in the league, so they are coming back to the league after a good outing in the ABSA, which may act as motivation for them.

We have to get results – Yobe

Yobe also revealed that he has worked on the mistakes the team made in their previous games.

“Every game is different. Yes, we are coming from a very bad loss, but we went back and evaluated and analysed where we went wrong. I worked on a few grey areas that we saw so going into this game, the boys are ready.

“We have to get results in every game that we have left. As you can see, the games now are becoming less every day, so we can’t afford to be dropping points in every game that we play, so yes, Kabwe Warriors are coming off a massive win, but every game that we play now we shall also be playing for maximum points.”

Kansanshi is currently deep in the relegation zone, ranking 16th in the log standings, with 26 points from 27 matches played, including five wins, eleven draws, and eleven losses.
