Coming from a 1-0 victory against Nkwazi on Wednesday, Green Eagles will aim to extend their winning momentum against Nkana at Nkana stadium on Saturday.
Eagles have proven to be bad travelers in their previous matches and will be hoping to turn around the tables this time around.
Green Eagles is 7th on the log with 35 points, while Nkana is 11th with 29 points.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, Green Eagles coach Perry Mutapa said his side is ready to face Nkana.
“I think there is not much time to prepare because of the congestion of the games plus the travelling, so for us the preparations started a long time ago. We just have to see how Nkana is going to come out, and also we know how we are going to come out. So in terms of preparation, I think we started a long time ago,” Mutapa said.
“Pressure is always there” – Mutapa.
However, Mutapa anticipates a tough challenge ahead.
“Pressure is always part of the game because you want to do well, but we know Nkana has got that extra motivation, and playing them at their home ground is a tough fixture, but we are here to do well,” noted Mutapa.
“It doesn’t count the game we played in Choma; this will be a different ballgame. Yes, a new technical bench, and we know what a new technical bench does to the team. So far they haven’t lost; they are going to come into the game with that mind of making sure they pick up the maximum points,” concluded Mutapa.
Nkana interim coach Elijah Tana is looking for nothing but a win.
“Football is all about winning; we will work on our winning ways. Green Eagles is a strong side for us; we will make it easy because we are at home. We will let the players relax and play our own plan,” he said.
