Nchanga Rangers assistant coach Israel Mwanza says the team’s ultimate target this season is to clinch the 2025-26 MTN Super League title.
The Chingola-based beat Napsa Stars 1-0 on Thursday in a Week 24 league at REIZ Arena to remain in third position with 43 points, eight points behind log leaders and defending champions, Power Dynamos.
In a post-match interview, Mwanza disclosed that the chase is still on as they aim to break the 28-year wait for the league title at Nchanga Stadium.
“It’s a wonderful result. We were playing away, and we got three points. I think it’s a good result for us. Obviously, our target is to fight to reach the top. That’s our target: to win the league. It’s possible,” Mwanza said.
Mwanza stated that the technical bench will continue with their careful planning for the next encounters.
“We have to go back to the drawing board and make the plans for the next game against Green Buffaloes,” he stated.
Brave Rangers have managed to pick up 12 wins and seven draws with only 5 defeats as of Week 24. They have also been in good form with four wins and one defeat in the last five matches.
Nchanga Rangers will now shift their attention to Sunday’s match against 10th-placed Green Buffaloes at the Nchanga Stadium.
