Nkana Football Club head coach Mwenya Chipepo is satisfied after Kalampa secured a point away to FC Leopards in a Week One MTN Super League clash.
The record 13-time Zambian champions opened their campaign with a hard-fought draw on the road.
And Chipepo believes the result, will give his side confidence heading into the next league fixtures.
“We are very happy to pick up one point away from home, though we wanted the three points. It was a very difficult game,” Chipepo said.
“We’ve seen where the problem is, and we have a lot of chances. When we go home, we’re going to sit down and work on the problems we have today.”
Chipepo Explains Tactical Changes.
Chipepo explained some of his tactical decisions, including resting one of his key players, Idris Mbombo.
“He is a very important player for us, and we wanted him to be ready for the next game.”
The Nkana boss expressed delight at the contribution of his new signings, particularly youngsters promoted from the club’s youth structures.
“The new players impressed me, especially those who came in from the youth. We are grooming them, and I’m sure by next season, they will be good players. We’ll see them playing for the national team.”

With Nkana enjoying one of the largest fan bases in Zambian football, Chipepo promised to reward their loyalty with positive results.
“We want to make our fans happy. Wherever we go, we have a huge crowd following us. So what we need to do now is to appreciate them by making sure we win most of the games,” he said.
Ahead of upcoming fixtures, Chipepo has set a long-term target, to ensure Nkana are back competing among the best teams in the country.
“Every team is hoping to win the league or qualify for the CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup. We’re also working towards that” he said.
