Despite a run of six losses and one draw in the last seven matches, Green Eagles coach Kebby Hachipuka has received the public backing of the club with the Choma – based side believing he is the right man to turn around the fortunes.
Eagles sit 10th on the log with 31 points, four above the relegation zone.
Eagles have not won a match since 2 – 1 win over Kabwe Warriors back in December.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the club has maintained its faith in Hachipuka, a former Chipolopolo defender.
“Green Eagles Football Club acknowledges the concerns arising from our recent unimpressive run of results in the league. While the outcomes have not reflected our ambition, we wish to assure all stakeholders that this is just a transition period as we work towards building a stronger and more competitive team.
“Our commitment to the Club’s vision remains unwavering. We recognize that this is one of the toughest patches in our journey, but we stand firmly behind our players and the Technical Bench led by Head Coach Kebby Hachipuka,” the statement read in part.
“We Shall Rise Again“
The club said everyone is working tirelessly on restoring the winning mentality that Green Eagles FC is long renowned for.
It urged its supporters to remain patient.
“To our all-weather fans across the country, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support,” the club stated.
Eagles have now shifted their attention to the Week 26 encounter against Nchanga Rangers.
“As we host Nchanga Rangers, we call upon the 12th man to turn up in large numbers and cheer the team to victory. Green Eagles FC is the pride of not just the Southern Province but also the entire country, and together, we shall rise again,” the club stated.
