Zanaco football Club head coach Numba Mumamba says the two consecutive wins have motivated the team ahead of Saturday’s match against second-placed Zesco United.

Fifth-placed Zanaco will welcome Zesco United at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka in a Week 27 MTN Super League match.

With a 2-1 win away against Mutondo Stars last weekend, the Bankers will be aiming for a third win straight for the first time this season, while Zesco United has recorded goalless draws in their last two matches against Indeni and Forest Rangers FC.

Mumamba states that there is a need for the team to continue on their winning trajectory to propel them out of the relegation zone.

“Our plan is to keep winning”- Mumamba.

He adds that the target is to get a win over his former club while stating that it will be a tough match.

“We expect a tough game playing against Zesco, but we have the players that can give us the result that we want. That is why we have been pushing the team during training so that they can give us positive results that will move us out of our relegation,” Mumamba said.

“The plans that we have are to make sure that we maximize on winning games because that is what will make us move out of relegation. If we continue to throw points, then it will be difficult for us to get out of relegation. But the two games that we won have motivated the team,” he noted.

Numba Mumamba watching his team from the terraces at Nkoloma stadium during Sunday’s Super League game against FC MUZA.

“All we need is just to have good concentration and make sure we work as a team so that at the end of the day, we get the result that will move us out of relegation.”

Mumamba, former Zesco coach, says the technical bench is working on improving the defense and striking aspect of the team so as to improve the goal difference.

“As a technical bench, we have continued to work on our finishing and our defending as a team, especially during the transition, when we lose possession of the ball because our reaction has been a bit slow. That is why we’ve conceded so many goals this season,” Mumamba stated.
