Red Arrows moved to the summit of the MTN Super League table with 21 points after a commanding 3-0 victory over struggling Nkana FC in a Week 10 clash played at the Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.

Goals from Saddam Yusuf Phiri in the 9th minute, Joseph Phiri in the 68th, and Jonathan Mada in the 79th sealed an emphatic win for the Airmen, who leapfrogged Zanaco FC to the top of the standings. The result compounded Nkana’s woes, as the record 13-time Zambian champions remain winless in nine league matches this season, sitting second from bottom with just five points in ten matches.

Zanaco’s Unbeaten Run Ends in Choma

Zanaco suffered their first defeat of the campaign after falling 1-0 to Green Eagles in Choma. Collins Sikombe’s 90th-minute penalty handed the hosts a dramatic victory, ending the Bankers’ unbeaten run and allowing Red Arrows to take over at the top on goal difference.

Konkola Blades Edge Mutondo Stars

In Kitwe, Konkola Blades secured a crucial 2-1 away victory over Mutondo Stars. Emmanuel Chikaza opened the scoring in the 46th minute before Mike Nyangu doubled the lead four minutes later. Wasanga Mhango pulled one back for Mutondo in the 76th minute, but it was too little too late for the hosts. Blades now sits 12th in the standings with 10 points from nine games.

Four-Goal Thriller in Kabwe

Both still in the relagation zone, Mines United and FC Leopards shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw in Kabwe. Emmanuel Sichela and Panji Mwanza were on target for Mines, while Thomas Sakala and Emmanuel Chabula (from the penalty spot) ensured Leopards walked away with a point. Mines United is at the rock bottom of the standings with just three points, while Leopard sits third from bottom with 6 points.

Warriors Edge Wanderers in Tight Contest

Kabwe Warriors continued their steady form with a narrow 1-0 win over Mufulira Wanderers. Timothy Sakala’s 39th-minute strike proved decisive, earning the Warriors another valuable three points on the road. They are now third on the table, level on points with Zanaco and Arrows. Mufulira Wanderers, on the other hand, is sixth with 15 points in ten games.

More action

Tomorrow, Zesco United will take on Green Buffaloes in Lusaka, while Power Dynamos will host Nkwazi, with FC MUZA traveling to Chingola for a clash with Nchanga Rangers.
