Power Dynamos may face heavy sanctions among them, playing some of their home games away from home should they be found wanting by the Zambian Premier League (ZPL) for instigating crowd trouble during the Kitwe Derby at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium earlier this month.
The ZPL has instituted investigations against the former league champions after it emerged that their fans caused trouble during the derby, which they lost 2–1.

In a letter addressed to the club and seen by Bolanews, ZPL general secretary Joseph Chimpampwe has warned of heavy sanctions against the Ndeke club.
“We write to notify you of the commencement of an investigation into the conduct of Power Dynamos Football Club’s supporter during the league match against Nkana FC held at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on 7th December 2024,” Champampwe stated.

According to ZPL, identified Power fans threw objects on the pitch in the 17th minute as a show of anger at the goal their team had conceded.
“This unruly behavior disrupted the match proceedings, poised a significant risk to the safety of players, match officials, and other supporters and brought the name of the game into disrepute,” he said.
Champampwe warned that should the club be found wanting, they will face serious action.
“…the following action will be taken, charges will be preferred against Power Dynamos Football Club based on the findings: punitive fines and other administrative penalties may be imposed following the conclusion of the disciplinary process,” Chimpampwe stated.
