Perry Mutapa reacts to Napsa’s 3 nil loss to Green Eagles

Despite the disappointing start to the 2023/2024 season, Mutapa is not ruling out any chances of turning things around.

Napsa Stars Coach Perry Mutapa says he is not under pressure despite his team sliding into the bottom four of the Zambian Super League.

With six defeats and five draws out of the 13 games played so far this season, Napsa Stars are 16th on the log table.

Mutapa expressed his disappointment saying he had not met his goal of finishing in the top six and that he had not qualified for this season’s ABSA Cup.

“Feeling the heat? No. I think we need to keep working as Napsa Stars. I know we are going to do better in the upcoming matches,” he said.

“We had our short target of qualifying for the ABSA Cup but with this defeat, we have no chance at all,” he added.

The former coach of the Power Dynamos added that this primary cause was a failure to convent clinical chances.

“I feel like what has cost us is not utilizing our chances in front of goal,” he said.

Despite the disappointing start to the 2023/2024 season, Mutapa is not ruling out any chances of turning things around.

Despite the fact that five Super League coaches have already lost their jobs due to identical circumstances, Mutapa, whose 3-0 loss against Green Eagles yesterday was his greatest margin in his coaching history, insisted he is not under pressure.

The Pensioners’ three remaining games before Christmas are against Power Dynamos, the defending Super League Champions, and the resilient Nkwazi Football Club, so things won’t get any worse.

Could Mutapa be the next manager sacked, given that five elite teams have already fired a few of their head coaches?
