Kabwe Warriors coach Numba Mumamba has demanded that his team reclaim its place in the Zambian Super League top four when they face Zanaco on Saturday at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium.

Warriors, who started the season strongly, appear to be losing their grip after losing back-to-back games before the international break.

The Kabwe-based side lost 2-0 to Kansanshi Dynamos and 1-0 to Green Eagles to drop out of the top four.

They will be seeking redemption this weekend at home.

Head coach Numba anticipates a tough match but believes the team is ready to bounce back.

“Tomorrow’s game will be a very crucial match for us, looking at where we are coming from, “he said. “We dropped six points in a row, which is not good for us, especially since our ambition is to play in the ABSA Cup. So the two games have been a very bad setback on our part.”

Numba continued: “But I think we have done our homework, especially during the week that we had a break. We had to work on the mistakes that we noticed and improve on them so that we perform better in the coming game against Zanaco tomorrow.”

The former Zanaco boss, who is coming up against his former side, has urged the team to reclaim their top-four position in the standings.

“We are playing a big team that is playing good football; we just have to be at our best on the day so that we can redeem ourselves by winning and reclaim our position on the log,” stated Numba.

Warriors are currently fifth in the league standings with 21 points from 12 games played, and a win would propel them to the top of the table depending on the outcome of other games.
