MTN Super League side Nkwazi Football Club is in advanced talks with former Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi to replace Dennis Makinka as head coach.
The position of head coach at Nkwazi was left vacant after Makinka moved to Nkana FC as Ian Bakala’s first assistant coach.
Following Makinka’s departure, coach Keegan Phiri has been in charge of the Zambian police side in pre-season.
They could now soon announce Chiyangi, who has been without a club since he left the Green Eagles fifteen months ago.
According to BolaNews sources, Nkwazi believe he has enough experience to lead the squad to victory, having held coaching positions at the Green Buffaloes, Power Dynamos, Nkana, and Zanaco in the past.
During his reign at Eagles, he helped the team transform from a relegation side to a title contending team and Nkwazi will hope he will help them contend for the title in the upcoming season.
Nkwazi will host Mutondo Stars in the opening match of the 2024/25 Super League season which is set to kick off next weekend.
