Nkwazi FC goalkeeper Lucas Mainza is set to leave the club after a three-year stint, BolaNews has learnt.
The young shot-stopper initially joined Nkwazi in 2023 on a two-season loan deal from Chilanga Stars.
Since his arrival, Mainza has been a standout performer at Edwin Imboela Stadium, playing a key role in helping the police-sponsored side secure a sixth-place finish in the 2024/25 MTN Super League season with 50 points.
During the campaign, Mainza featured in 32 matches, kept 15 clean sheets, and conceded just 24 goals — statistics that earned him a nomination for the Golden Glove award alongside winner Willard Mwanza and ZESCO United’s Toaster Nsabata.

A source close to the player confirmed to BolaNews that Mainza is finalizing his next move.
“Yes, it’s confirmed the player will be leaving Nkwazi, but he is yet to decide whether he will join Nkana or ZESCO United. I’m sure an agreement will be reached soon. Wherever they offer a better package is where he will likely go. A deal could be done by the end of the week,” the source said.
Mainza has also attracted interest from Red Arrows and Zanaco, in addition to Nkana and ZESCO United.
