When Nkana FC hosts Forest Rangers on Sunday at Nkana stadium, their passionate fans will expect Kalampa to secure a fourth consecutive victory since the arrival of head coach Mwenya Chipepo.
Chipepo, who joined the club a month ago, will come up against his immediate former side, Forest Rangers, and he anticipates a tough challenge from Fole Malembe.
“The team is ready; we have prepared well. I know it’s not going to be an easy game because I coached Forest Rangers, and now I’m coaching Nkana. It’s like we will be playing the same game, but tactically, we will be better than them,” Chipepo stated.
Chipepo emphasized the importance of securing all three points, labeling home matches as non-negotiable wins.
“It’s very important. You know, at home, it’s a must that we pick three points,” he said.
Chipepo has lifted Nkana out of the relegation zone into eighth place on the league table, just one spot shy of the top six, which guarantees ABSA Cup qualification.
“We look forward to playing in the ABSA Cup. That is a very important competition for us. We are currently in eighth position, and we still have a chance to qualify,” he said.
He has since called on Nkana fans to drum up support for the Red Army, like they have done before, promising an exciting performance.
“They just have to come in numbers and support the team the way they always do. We are going to give them a very good game on Sunday,” he urged.
Nkana fans will hope their team’s resurgence under Chipepo continues as they push for a better finish to the first half of the 2024-25 campaign.
